As an ongoing service project, my parents and I help out with music therapy at Good Samaritan Society in Inver Grove Heights. This is one of my favorite places to volunteer and have been doing so for the past few years. We helped with bringing the residents to and from their rooms and singing along with them. We sang lots of songs like “Bicycle Built for Two” and “Take Me Out to the Ball Game”. Since it was so close to Easter, we also sang songs like “Here Comes Peter Cottontail” and “Easter Parade”. It’s a lot of fun to see the joy on the faces of the residents. The staff at Good Samaritan Society is so nice and welcoming and the residents are great! I had a great time visiting with the residents that I’ve gotten to know from my other visits, and meeting new friends.
