Intoxicated Woman Plows into Fire Truck on Scene of Fatal Crash: Police

A woman with a BAC of .26 drove past flares and hit a fire truck on the scene of a fatal crash in Inver Grove Heights, police say.

A Red Wing woman was arrested last month after plowing into a fire truck on the scene of a fatal crash in Inver Grove Heights. The 52-year-old woman drove past flares and a message board announcing the road’s closure and hit an unoccupied fire truck on Highway 55.

The woman had a blood alcohol level of .26 — more than three times the legal limit, according to the Minnesota State Patrol. She suffered minor injuries and was arrested for DWI.

Police remind motorists that seeing flashing lights is a lot easier if you’re sober. Extra DWI enforcement is on Minnesota roads weekends through Dec. 30. Remember to move over or slow down for flashing lights.
