LaMettry's Unfazed by Spontaneous Winter Storm

Monday's unexpected snow and ice storm delayed traffic, caused innumerable accidents and took everyone by surprise ... almost.

WCCO-TV reported Monday night that LaMettry's Collision in Inver Grove Heights—due to its proximity to the epicenter of the traffic chaos in St. Paul—was one of the local collision centers being inundated with new work orders.

But according to general manager Chris Nordquist, LaMettry's had been tracking the storm and was prepared. 

"Yesterday wasn't too much of a surprise," Nordquist told Patch. "We're usually on our toes in relation to what's happening weather-wise. One thing we do is try not to preschedule too many customers before a weather event. We usually gameplan for storms."

Nordquist also said that across LaMettrys' seven Twin Cities locations, the call center took in around 30 new customers as a result of Monday's storm—most of which had sustained little more than a fender-bender. 

"We did have one customer towed to the Inver Grove Heights location," Nordquist said. "The damage on his car looked to be around $8,000 to $10,000, if not a total loss."

Despite the surprising nature of Monday's storm, LaMettry's is on top of things. "We're not turning anybody away," Nordquist said. "We're open and ready to take in new vehicles."
