The Dog Blog: A Little Boy Becomes a Man
I always knew the day he transformed from a puppy into a dog would include more than dry kibble and tasteless bits.
It's hard to believe the last eight months have gone so quickly, but July 8 came and went, and my puppy turned one year old.Â
He's my first dog—or at least the first one for which I'm solely responsible—and I always knew the day he transformed from a puppy into a dog would include more than dry kibble and tasteless bits.Â
I'm not one of those people that thinks he knew it was his special day—after all, he's a dog not some sort of savant—but making him a gourmet meal made me feel like a better dog owner.

Actually I got into prepared dog food about two months ago after Kuma started refusing to eat his dry food.
I've had several people, including two veterinarians, tell me to persist and eventually he would eat whatever was in his bowl. Maybe I'm spoiling him a bit but I chose to go with something other than the starvation method of feeding.
If anybody has experimented with dog food that is either prepared or raw, I'd love to hear your recipes and experiences. Â Â
