First Day of School 

• Grades 1-12: Tuesday, Sept. 3
• Kindergarten conferences: Tuesday and Wednesday, Sept. 3 and 4
• Kindergarten First Day: Thursday, Sept. 5
• Preschool First Day: Sept. 4 (for Wednesdays) and Sept. 5 (for Tuesdays/Thursdays)
• Adventure Club First Day: Tuesday, Sept. 3

Fast Start Day: On Thursday, Aug. 22, from 3-9 pm., Mound Westonka High School families can pay fees, find out about activities, put money in school lunch accounts and have school photos taken.

• Grandview Middle School: Tuesday, Aug. 27, 5:30-8:30
• Hilltop and Shirley Hills Primary Schools: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 4-6 p.m.
• Preschool Parent Information Night (held at the ECC site): Wednesday, Aug. 21
• Hilltop and Shirley Hills Preschool Parents - 5:30-6:30 p.m.
• ECC Preschool Parents - 6-7 p.m.
• Preschool Open House at Hilltop, Shirley Hills and Early Childhood Center: Wednesday, Aug. 28, 4-6 p.m.

Facilities Update Tours: All Westonka students, parents and community members are invited to tour the renovations that took place this summer. Shirley Hills Building Tour, Aug. 28, 6-7 p.m. (immediately following Open House); MWHS Building Tour, Sept. 11, 7-8:30 p.m. (in conjunction with Curriculum Night) 

The building improvements—which focused on deferred maintenance as well as improving building safety/security, accessibility and the learning environment—were made possible due to the passage of the 2011 referendum. Major construction at Hilltop and at Grandview will take place in summer 2014.
