From Dr. Scott Alger, principal:
This morning a staff member became suddenly ill. Students were not in the room at the time. Other staff members quickly responded, which included calling 9-1-1.
As a result, there were many emergency vehicles in front of the school. I want to assure you that the staff member went home on their own after a consultation with medical staff. All of the students in that classroom are now being taught by a regular substitute teacher, who was already in the building.
We are grateful for the support offered by our staff members and the nature in which they responded to the needs of our students. We provided limited information to teachers about how to talk to students who ask questions about this incident: "A staff member did become ill, but everything is okay."
Teachers have also been asked to share that we always take every step possible to ensure our kids and teachers are safe and well.
