Excelsior Horse Wins Big, Nite to Unite, Canoe Under a Full Moon and Tour Noerenberg Gardens

Stoupinator won Canterbury Park's $100,000 Northbound Pride Oaks by a head over pacesetter Seeking Treasure over the weekend. Stoupinator is owned by Joseph Novogratz of Excelsior, trained by Mac Robertson and was ridden by Alex Canchari. Final time for one-mile on the turf was 1:35.78. Stoupinator returned $14.00 to win.
Three Rivers Park District - Lake Minnetonka Regional ParkÂ
The Osprey Reservation Shelter opened Aug. 1 and provides seating for 100 guests, a large, open-top grill, electrical outlets and plenty of counter space. Situated in a private location within walking distance to the play area, restrooms and water. The reservation site includes a large grassy area for picnic games and a sand volleyball court. Nite to Unite
Communities and neighborhoods throughout the Lake Minnetonka area will host "Nite to Unite" events tomorrow. Check Lake Minnetonka Patch tomorrow morning for a get together near you.
Sundays in the Garden
Sunday, August 18, from 1-4 p.m., at Noerenberg Memorial Gardens, Orono. Spend a Sunday afternoon at Noerenberg Gardens. Hennepin County master gardeners will give tours and answer questions. This program is free and open to all ages.
Saturday Mornings on the Farm
Saturday, August 24, from 9:30 a.m.-noon, at Gale Woods Farm, Minnetrista. Explore the Gale Woods Farm barn, where you can meet animals, assist a Gale Woods farmer with chores, and participate in other seasonal farm activities. Reservations are not required. Cost is $5 and children under 2 are admitted free.

Sunday, August 18, from 8-10 p.m., at Baker Park Reserve, Maple Plain. Enjoy a leisurely paddle as our guides lead you on a canoe trip under a full moon. Watch for deer, muskrats, herons, and other wildlife while being entertained with stories of the full moon. Minors must be accompanied by an adult. All equipment is provided.
