The Orono Police Department will be hosting National Night Out on Tuesday, August 7, from 6 to 8 p.m. You are invited to register your block party or neighborhood gathering and receive a visit from the Orono Police Department and the Mound and Long Lake Fire Departments.
National Night Out is designed to heighten crime, drug and violence awareness; generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs; strengthen neighborhood spirit and police-community partnerships, and send a message to criminals letting them know that neighborhoods are organized and fighting back.
Children who participate in a neighborhood gathering are eligible to enter a free bike drawing with the Orono Police Department during the event. Two bikes will be given away, courtesy of Mound True Value.

Please register your block party by July 24 by calling the Orono Police Department at 952-249-4700 to ensure that police and fire representatives can attend.
