Minnetonka Beach 'Wow!' House: 1905 Victorian With Mysterious Tunnel

Where does that tunnel lead? Why is it there?

MINNETONKA BEACH, MN — This house was built in 1905, and it is full of the nooks and crannies typical of the Victorian period. A mysterious tunnel appears in the photos for the listing, but there is no information about where the tunnel goes, or where it even begins. We assume this information was omitted as a courtesy to any prohibition bootleggers who might end up buying this house for the $2.5M asking price.

Dark woods and exposed beams are the hallmark of the interior. The spiral staircase has a bay window sitting area halfway down; you can imagine sitting there during a house party and being able to greet anyone coming up or down the stairs.

The deck on the lake side of the house spans the entire width of the house. The view is luxuriant. Upstairs is another deck; you can tell it needs some work, unless of course you like it for its aged look.

Most of the rooms are oddly shaped, a typical trait of a Victorian. There's even a big round window in a sitting room upstairs.
