House Where Murder Occurred On Market: Estate Sale Starts Friday

Notable items for sale this weekend include a Renoir painting, a Versace china set, and an Armani suit.

ORONO, MN — The Lake Minnetonka mansion where a couple died in a murder-suicide this spring has been put onto the market. On April 10, a man and a woman were found dead at a house on Shoreline Drive in Orono.

The couple were later identified as prominent businessman Irwin Jacobs and his wife, Alexandra Jacobs. Irwin had owned Genmar Holdings, which was one of the largest boat builders in the nation before the company filed for bankruptcy in 2009.

The Hennepin County Medical Examiner ruled Irwin's death a suicide. Alexandra's death was ruled a homicide. Both died from multiple gunshot wounds.
