100-Day Transition Plan Underway for Dist. 197 Superintendent
Nancy Allen-Mastro will report back in December on her findings.

The West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan School Board welcomed Superintendent to her first school board meeting Monday night at .
“It really is exciting to be here,” said Allen-Mastro, before delivering her first superintendent report.
It was also the first board meeting for new , who was hired from Minnetonka Public Schools.

Allen-Mastro gave a rundown of her 100-day transition plan to hear from stakeholders about the strengths and weaknesses of the district and gain a thorough understanding of the district’s programs, finances and student achievement.
The plan (see attached PDF) focuses on four main themes: stakeholder relationships, superintendent and school board relations, organization capacity and alignment and strategic planning.

Allen-Mastro said she will be using the information to gauge how to move forward with the goals set by the strategic redesign process.
“The better insight I have the better I can lead the district,” she said.
Board members showed support for the process, which is scheduled to be completed Nov. 21. Allen-Mastro expects to provide a report in December with her findings and any recommendations.
Board chair Mark Spurr said it would be helpful for someone with “fresh eyes” to take a comprehensive look at the district.
“I appreciate your thoroughness and organization in this process,” said board member Brenda Jo Corbett.
