2 Arrested In Connection With Fatal Wednesday Shooting: Police

Despite the arrests, the department said it is still searching for the person responsible for fatally shooting a man.

WEST SAINT PAUL, MN — Two people have been arrested in connection to the fatal shooting — which police say was targeted — that took place Wednesday in Thompson County Park, the West Saint Paul Police Department announced.

Cartrell Nay-Shawn Turner, 22 of Maplewood, was booked into Dakota County Jail Thursday night on probable cause possession of a pistol without a permit, police said.

Asiani Ra-chelle Nelson, 20 of Champlin, was also booked into Dakota County Jail Thursday for aiding an offender – accomplice after the fact, police said.

Police say that the fatal shooting took place during a large gathering and that they are searching for witnesses. When officers arrived at the park Wednesday responding to a call about the shooting, many people at the gathering fled and those who stayed haven't cooperated with investigators, police said.
