
The District 197 Youth Enrichment program recently received a $3,000 grant from the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC) to fund a theater camp this summer.
They will be partnering with Homeward Bound Theater Company to put on the play, "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory."
MRAC serves audiences in Minnesota's seven-county metropolitan region through grants, services, and technical assistance to the arts communities of Anoka, Carver, Dakota, Hennepin, Ramsey, Scott, and Washington counties.

Their vision is to integrate art into the social fabric and identity of every community, to help organizations thrive in arts activities and to make sure the public understands the value of art in our communities.
The "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" camp will run from July 9 to July 26 and is open for students entering grades 4-8. During this camp, students will work with a real acting coach and technical director to learn acting, movement, voice, improvisation and script analysis.

To culminate this camp there will be two performances held at as follows: Thursday, July 26 at 7:00 p.m. and Friday, July 27 at 10:00 a.m. Tickets will be on sale for the public: $4 for Adults and $2 for Children/Students/Seniors
