The award recognizes outstanding work by elected officials who demonstrate a high level of commitment and effectiveness in support of Minnesota’s environment. Representative Hansen was one of four legislators selected for recognition this year.

“Representative Hansen has been a vocal champion for conservation, and has shown particular leadership in the face of efforts to weaken laws protecting wetlands,” said Carol Keyes-Ferrer, Northern Dakota County Sierra Club Chair.

“We look forward to continued work together to improve transit and transportation options, protect clean water, and defend Minnesota’s framework of environmental protections.”
