
seniors Courtney Armborst and Anna Giles signed Letters of Intent to play college soccer on National Signing Day. Giles will play soccer for Minot State University and Armborst will play soccer for the University of Minnesota – Crookston.
Armborst and Giles played together on the Henry Sibley High School varsity soccer team. Armborst played both forward and midfield and Giles played many positions but ended her career with Sibley as a central midfielder.
“Anna and Courtney are both incredible athletes, great students and positive role models for the Henry Sibley community,” said Brian Ihrke, Activities Director at Henry Sibley High School. “Signing to play at a college is a great accomplishment, and we are really proud of these girls and wish them the best.”

Armborst was named an All-Conference Athlete for 2011-2012, and Giles earned an All-Conference Honorable Mention in 2009-2010, 2010-2011 and 2011-2012.
“Courtney’s athleticism made her a player you could put anywhere, but her tenacity to score and stick with the play allowed her to shine as a forward,” said Julie Johnson, Assistant Varsity Girls Soccer Coach for Henry Sibley. “Anna has solid technical skills andyou could always trust her to put the ball in the right spot.”

“Both girls contributed to our program in very positive ways and left some large shoes to fill at their respective positions,” said Johnson. “It will be exciting to see how their careers continue to develop at the next level.”
