Brief: Dakota County Tests Mass Notification System Tuesday Night

Residents are encouraged to register before evening test of emergency information system.

Dakota County will be testing out the mass notification system Tuesday, Nov. 1 between 6-7 p.m., according to the .

The system sends out information via recorded phone message, text or email in the case of emergencies such as flooding, missing person searches, evacuations and gas leaks, according to the Dakota Communications Center.

Residents who have not yet registered for the program are encouraged to visit www.mn-dcc.org and register which forms of communication they want to receive emergency notifications on. Residents can also update information on the site.
