Dist. 197 Communications Director Departs for Edina

The West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan School District has another position to fill in the administrative offices.

Communications Director Susan Brott has accepted a position with Edina Public Schools.

Her hiring as the director of communications and community engagement was approved by the Edina School Board on Monday.

Brott will be the next in a line of change-ups at the Mendota Heights administrative offices. left for Farmington last summer, taking the with him.

has stepped in to reorganize the cabinet, and the school board chose a new permanent superintendent, , in May. 

Brott came to District 197 in 2008 from the White Bear Lake Area Schools. Her last day in the office is June 15.

Over the past four years, the district has increased outreach to the community through new digital formats, newsletters and countless public meetings, notably those held to educate voters about last .  have also and from the community. 

"I am proud of the work we've been able to accomplish during my tenure here to engage the community in School District 197, whether they have direct connections with the schools or not," said Brott in an email. "Survey data, enrollment growth, and recent elections point to an engaged citizenry and business community that takes pride in their local schools, both public and non-public."
