District 197 Hires New Communications Director

Carrie Hilger comes to the West St. Paul-Mendota Heights-Eagan School District from the Minnetonka Public Schools.

 has hired a new director to lead community outreach and district communications. 

New hire Carrie Hilger brings a background in research and marketing to the position. Her start date is slated for July 5. Her starting salary is $85,000, according to district personnel recommendations.

The former communications director, , left to take a position with the Edina Public Schools this month.

Hilger has been the Minnetonka Public Schools' marketing specialist for the past four years. 

Prior to her work in Minnetonka, she was a senior admissions counselor at the University of St. Thomas. She received a B.A. in business communication and a Master of Business Communication degree from the University of St. Thomas. She is also accredited in public relations through the Public Relations Society of America.

“I believe that an excellent administrator should have passion for what they do and set high standards for their work,” said Hilger in a statement. “As a leader in District 197, I will strive to set goals and objectives that further the mission and goals of our district and schools.”
