More about this project

The lane closures are part of a larger project on I-494 to repave the road, update drainage and repair seven bridges on an eight-mile stretch of I-494 between the Minnesota River and Third Ave. in South St. Paul. During the two-year project, crews will use 14 full or partial closures of I-494 in order to compete the work by fall 2020.

Residents that live near I-494 between the Minnesota and Mississippi rivers may hear noise as crews work to remove pavement, set barrier and pave the road throughout the project area.
