Five Mendota Heights Residents Compete at Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival

Mendota Heights was represented by five racers at the 2011 Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival Saturday, Sept. 17.

Chequamegon Fat Tire Festival is an annual 40-mile mountain bike race from Hayward, WI to the Telemark Resort just outside Cable, WI.

A total of 1,889 competitors finished the Chequamegon 40, according to race results.

Here's where the competitors from Mendota Heights finished in the grueling competition:

Todd Thurmes, age 28, finished 351; 316 in his division and 21 in his age group with a time of 02:41:57.1; mph 15.1

Toby Schifsky, age 45, placed 981; 854 in his division and 171 in his age group with a time of 03:12:09.6; mph 12.7

William Johnson, age 48, placed 1,033; 901 in his division and 181 in his age group with a time of 03:15:08.1; mph 12.5

Ryan Stanton, age 37, placed 1,231; 1,060 in his division and 173 in his age group with a time of 03:26:07.7; mph 11.9

Patrick Dupont, age 46, placed 1,806; 1,528 in his division and 296 in his age group with a time of 04:25:36.1; mph 9.2
