Summer Concert Series: Public NewSense
When/Where:  7-8:30 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5/ Dodge Nature Center Amphitheater, 365 Marie Ave. W., West St. Paul (Rain location: Farm Education Building, 1701 Charlton St.)
Why Go: Pack a picnic and head over to Dodge Nature Center for a performance by teenage jazz group Public NewSense. In case of rain, head to the Farm Education Building, 1701 Charlton Street.   
Price: Free. Preregistration is encouraged.

Relay for Life in South St. Paul
When/Where: Opening ceremony 7 p.m. Friday, Aug. 5. Relays last all night/ Lincoln Elementary School, 357 9th Ave. N., South St. Paul
Why Go: Participants have a chance to celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember lost loved ones, and fight back against the disease at the . The opening teams camp out at the event location, and team members take turns walking or running around a track at all times during the event.

Trees of Minnesota
When/Where? 9-11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 6/ Holland Lake Picnic Shelter at
Why Go? Adults 16+ can take this nature course to learn about Minnesota’s native trees and be able to identify them.
Price: $9 per person. Registration required.

When/Where: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 6/ St. Stephen’s Lutheran Church, 1575 Charlton Street, West St. Paul 

Why Go: This multi-family garage sale benefits the Gar Lockrem Community Choir.

Voice of Culture Drum and Dance
When/Where: 6:30 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 7/ Caponi Art Park, 1220 Diffley Road, Eagan
Why Go: Voice of Culture's performance showcases West African arts and culture by covering a timeline of music spanning the ancient song and dance from Africa to modern Afro-Hip-Hop in the United States.
