Get Out ... and Explore the Mendota Heights Area July 1-3

Give and get this weekend with art projects, blood donation and celebration of a 50-year anniversary.

When/Where: Noon-5 p.m. Friday, July 1/, 3445 O’Leary Lane, Eagan (Southeast of intersection of Yankee Doodle and Lexington Avenue)

Why Go: Blood donations dip during holiday weekends and throughout the summer. All blood types are needed.

Pricing: Free. Bring blood donor card or drivers license. Generally, those who weigh at least 110 pounds and are in good health may donate. Teenagers 16 or older may be able to donate with signed parental permission.

When/Where: Noon on Saturday, July 2/, 1695 Dodd Road, Mendota Heights

Why Go: Stop by for free hotdogs, a raffle and the celebration of 50 years of eagles, first lessons and “doh” moments.

Price: Free

When/Where: 8 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday, July 2/ , 1501 Central Pkwy, Eagan

Why Go: Join in on a four-hour marathon exercise class, send the kids to the kid zone, listen to speakers and try out the Xbox 360 Kinect. Massage, vision screenings and skills classes are all on the schedule. Bring a bottle of water and a towel.

When/Where: 9 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday; 10 a.m.- 2 p.m. Saturdays / , 12600 Nicollet Ave, Burnsville

Why Go: Visit this exhibit before it closes July 16 to see photos and art representing the past 100 years of Chinese experiences and traditions here in Minnesota.
