Henry Sibley High School Football Star Shot Dead: Teens Arrested
A 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy are in custody on suspicion of murder.

SAINT PAUL, MN — Saint Paul police were called to the scene of a shooting inside a home on the 100 block of Annapolis Street East at about 3:30 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 6. That’s where they found a teenage boy suffering from a gunshot wound.
Because the original 911 call was received by Dakota Communications Center in Dakota County, medics from HealthEast also responded to the home and pronounced the boy dead at the scene.
The victim was identified as as Da’Qwan Tremayne Jones-Morris, 17, of Saint Paul. Police said Thursday that a 16-year-old boy and a 15-year-old boy are in custody at the Ramsey County Juvenile Detention Center on suspicion of murder.

Jones-Morris was co-captain of the Henry Sibley High School football team in nearby Mendota Heights.
According to dispatch audio reviewed by the Star Tribune, police responded on a report Wednesday that a kid had accidentally shot a friend in the torso.

No arrests have been made at this time, and the investigation remains open and active.
This is Saint Paul’s 28th homicide of the year. A 29th shooting occurred later that day in the Holiday gas station on E. 7th Street and Kittson Street.
