Henry Sibley's 50th Annual GOFA Raises $16,000

proved golden for the charities that the annual week-long fundraiser supports. 

The school raised $16,000 during their 50th annual GOFA in February. 

GOFA (Give Once For All) is a series of events including themed dress-up days, a talent show and a dance, all organized by the student council.

Local businesses also get involved, donating money to offset the cost of running the events.

One of the most successful events this year was hosted by , which raised $900.  

This year's proceeds will be donated to three charities: Children's Lighthouse of Minnesota, raising money to provide hospice and respite care for children; Special Olympics of Minnesota, providing athletic opportunities for people with intellectual disabilities, and The University of Minnesota Medical Foundation—Saltzman Laboratory, focused on cancer research (see GOFA video).
