Highway 110 and I-35E Construction Kicks Off in Mendota Heights

Reduced lanes Monday morning mark the start of a road repair/reconstruction scheduled to last through mid-July.

Commuters can expect delays this summer at the Highway 110 and Interstate 35E interchange in Mendota Heights.

Lane closures on Highway 110 kick off on Monday, when the Minnesota Department of Transportation plans to reduce Highway 110 to a single lane in both directions between Lexington Avenue and the frontage road access east of Interstate 35E.

A work zone speed limit of 40 mph will be enforced.

The lane closures are part of a larger summer project to resurface that segment of Highway 110 and repair the bridge and ramps as needed. In addition to the new road surface, the project is also expected to reduce drainage problems and improve the guardrail system.

The ramps and loops are expected to close for as long as 17 days each sometime in May. Information on any major closures will be issued as those schedules are set.
