ISD 197 Senior Receives National Debate Award

Aaron Rajput​ was part of the one percent of 14,000 students that receive this award annually.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN— A senior from Henry Sibley High School has received the National Speech and Debate Associations' Academic All American Award, the district announced.

Aaron Rajput was part of the one percent of 14,000 students that receive this award annually, the district said.

To be eligible for the award, Rajput showed academic vigor, success in speech and debate, and personal excellence, the district said.

Rajput had multiple achievements throughout his time on the speech and debate teams, which he accomplished all while maintaining a high GPA, the district said.

  • Qualifying for the 2020-2021 Varsity Semi-Finals in the Minnesota Classic Debate League State Tournament
  • earning a spot to compete in the Speech for the National Individual Events Tournament of Champions for the last two seasons
