Lafayette Bridge Closure Could Mean Huge Delays Over the Next Two Weekends
Inspection of the northbound bridge will happen Sept. 15 with inspections of the southbound bridge following on Sept. 22.

According to a release from the Minnesota Department of Transportation, motorists should expect delays during the next two weekends while MnDOT performs an annual in-depth inspection of the Hwy 52 Lafayette Bridge.
The inspection is scheduled for Sept. 15 and Sept. 22.
Inspection will begin on the northbound bridge on Saturday, Sept. 15 at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until completed at 8 p.m. that day. During the inspection, northbound Hwy 52 will be closed between Hwy 156 (Concord Street) and West 7th Street in St. Paul.

The following weekend, inspectors will look at the southbound bridge starting on Saturday, Sept. 22 at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until completed at 8 p.m. Southbound Hwy 52 will be close between West 7th Street and Hwy 156 (Concord Street) and traffic detoured.

For the northbound bridge closure: Follow southbound Hwy 156 (Concord Street) to eastbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 61.
For the southbound bridge closure: Follow southbound Hwy 61 to westbound I-494 to northbound Hwy 156 (Concord Street).
