Schultz has worked in Hampton since 2007, according to her resume. Before that, she stayed home with her children, having left a career in social work in 2001.
“The council decided on the candidate that best fits the needs that Lilydale has at this time,” said Mayor Anita Pampusch. “It’s basically a one-person shop. You have to have a person who can both get the larger picture and be a good detail person.”

There were 40 applications for the position. The personnel committee interviewed six candidates, and two finalists were interviewed by the full council.
“We’ve come to one conclusion. No one will replace Teish, but someone is going to take her position,” said council member John Diehl at the city council meeting Monday.
Schultz has accepted the position, according to Pampusch. Her official first day will be Jan. 1, but she will be putting time in before that to learn the city’s operations.
