Police say to bring your mail in every day or have it held by the USPS if you are on vacation. Police are also asking residents to report any suspicious people or vehicles that you may see stopping at your mailbox or your neighbor's. Finally, if you see someone dumping large amounts of mail out the window of their car, get the license plate number, if safe to do so, and report it to us by dialing 911.
"We do not recommend using your mailbox for outgoing mail," police explained Thursday. "Please drop outgoing mail, especially if it has a payment inside, in a secure mailbox like the one at City Hall or any Post Office."
