June 9

An explosion at 1:45 a.m. roused a resident on the 700 block of Round Hill Road. Police found that a “MacGyver” bomb had destroyed his mailbox.

A backpack and other belongings were reported stolen from a man’s garage on the 500 block of Simard Street.

A resident of Bluebill Drive reported her golf bag and clubs stolen from the family vehicle.

June 8

A fight between two students that happened before school in the Henry Sibley cafeteria was reported. Both students received school consequences as well as citations for assault and disorderly conduct.

A sprinkler system on the 600 block of Arcadia was damaged by vandals.

A concrete mailbox post was broken off and a wood mailbox was damaged by vandals on the 1100 block of Cascade Lane.

Three males were cited for door-to-door solicitation on the 700 block of Upper Colonial Drive.

A woman reported a check that had been stolen from her mailbox on the 800 block of Monet Court about a month ago. The only reason she knew of the theft was the check was recently recovered by police during a traffic stop in Edina.

A purse was reported stolen from a vehicle at Mendakota Park. The thief broke a window to retrieve the item.

A resident on 3rd Street in Mendota made a citizen’s arrest of a suspect trespassing on their property.

A driver reported a BB gun pellet may have struck his vehicle as he passed Somerset Elementary.

A vehicle parked on Dodd Road incurred minor damage after it was hit by another driver when then drove off.

A  teenage girl reported receiving an inappropriate comment made at the Mendota Heights Par 3.

After a report of a possible domestic disturbance, police found the female party on Lexington, where she explained she had been yelling at her boyfriend before he kicked her out of his car. 

May 28

A resident reported that in the process of selling two items online, she came across a fraud scam. The scammers sent her a check for much more than the asking price of the items, then asked her to cash the check and send a portion of the funds to a PO box.
