Winter Weather Advisory Issued for Mendota Heights Area
Slippery or slushy side roads could await Tuesday morning commuters.

Update: The Mendota Heights area is under a Winter Weather Advisory from the National Weather Service. The advisory lasts until 6 a.m. Tuesday morning and indicates there may be difficulty while traveling.

The Mendota Heights area is under a hazardous weather outlook for Monday night into Tuesday, according to the National Weather Service.

"Anticipate a snow emergency to be declared after midnight," posted City Engineer John Mazzitello on the city's Facebook page.
There's a 90 percent chance of precipitation tonight—rain that will likely transition to snow. The NWS has predicted 2-4 inches of snow to fall overnight.

Mazzitello encouraged residents to move their cars off the street before heading to bed to allow for plows to move quickly through the city.
Parking on the street overnight (2 a.m.-6 a.m.) between Nov. 1 and March 31 is banned in Mendota Heights regardless of snowfall.
A snow emergency, declared when 2 inches of snow has fallen, bans parking on city streets until the street has been plowed from curb to curb regardless of what time of day it is.
Travel tonight (Monday night) and Tuesday morning may be slower than usual.
Snow is also predicted for Wednesday night and possibly next Sunday.
