After Monday, things will get very cold in central Minnesota.

TWIN CITIES, MN — After a hot and muggy Monday, where high temperatures could reach 85 degrees, things will cool off quickly in central Minnesota this week. The coldest day is expected to be Thursday, when the high will be 54 and the low will be 40.

Tuesday: Showers likely and possibly a thunderstorm before 10 a.m., then a chance of showers. Cloudy, with a high near 61. North wind around 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60 percent. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.

Tuesday Night: A 30 percent chance of showers, mainly before 1 a.m. Cloudy, with a low around 50. North northeast wind 5 to 10 mph.
