Minute with the Mayor: Summer Safety and Outdoor Warning Sirens

Summer is upon us, and the warm weather brings its own kind of safety issues. sat down with Mendota Heights Mayor Sandra Krebsbach to talk sirens and summer crime (check back next week for part 2).

This week brings good news for weather-watchers and soccer teams alike: Mendota Heights outdoor warning sirens have all been replaced or updated recently. 

There are five sirens throughout the city, equipped with emergency battery backups in case the power goes out. They are ready to warn residents in the case of severe thunderstorm warnings, tornadoes and other emergencies.
