MnDOT: More Closures, Lanes Reduced on I-35E in Mendota Heights Area

Highway 13 to southbound Interstate 35E will be closing 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Drivers who use Interstate 35E between Eagan and St. Paul should expect traffic to be reduced to two lanes during daytime non-rush hours and reduced to a single lane during nighttime hours in upcoming days, according to the Minnesota Department of Transportation.

The ramp from Highway 13 to southbound Interstate 35E will be closed from 9 a.m. Tuesday, Sept. 13 through 9 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19. Motorists are advised to follow the signed detour.

Northbound Interstate 35E is tentatively scheduled to close between Highway 55 and West Seventh Street from 10 p.m. Friday, Sept. 16 through 5 a.m. Monday, Sept. 19.

MnDOT crews are repairing and resurfacing the roadway and make other improvements. When complete, the project will result in a smoother ride, extended pavement life, improved drainage and improved pedestrian crossings that meet accessibility standards, according to MnDOT.

The project is now scheduled for completion by Nov. 15.
