No Plea For Accused Cop Killer; Benefit Planned For Slain Officer

The man accused of killing Mendota Heights Police Officer Scott Patrick during a traffic stop July 30 appeared in court Thursday.
Brian Fitch, 39, did not enter a plea during the appearance, Fox9 reported.
The TV station reported that Fitch appeared shackled in a wheelchair, still recovering from being shot eight times in a subsequent shoot-out with police.

A benefit for Scott Patrick’s family is scheduled for Sept. 27. The event is at 1 p.m. at 857 Highway 13 in Lilydale. All proceeds from the event and donations will benefit the Patrick family.
