Patch Wins (Kind Of) at Mendota Heights 5K
Myself and some awesome Patchers stepped out for some sunshine and good times Saturday morning.

I rallied early Saturday morning to partake in the Mendota Heights 5K to benefit the Special Olympics, and was rewarded with the first blue-sky-and-warm-breeze-kind-of-Saturday since ... last summer. Oy. That felt good.
Reporter Renee Miller and I were content to walk the route. Thanks to everyone that said "Hello" along the way!
Also from the Patch crew, Ad Manager Travis Roznos stopped by to make us feel a little un-athletic.

Reporter and photog extraordinaire John Molene was on assignment (I feel like a slave driver)—check out his gallery in this Thursday's Viewfinder.
A little exercise, a gift card from , and a lot of sun later, I'd say it was worth the 8 a.m. wake-up call.

Huge thanks go out to the for organizing the event, collecting some pretty stellar prizes (Rep. Rick Hansen is hosting the Super Bowl party this year, right?) and raising money for the REAL athletes.
Check back tomorrow for photos from the , where I actually touched a live chicken.
