Pedestrian Dies After Crash In West St. Paul

The fatal incident happened just before 10 a.m. Wednesday.

WEST ST. PAUL, MN — A pedestrian died after she was struck by a car on the 1300 block of Marthaler Lane Wednesday morning in West St. Paul. Just before 10 a.m., the West St. Paul Police Department, along with the South Metro Fire Department and HealthEast Medical, responded to the scene.

First responders found an 84-year-old woman unconscious with severe trauma. The HealthEast ambulance transported the victim to Regions Hospital, where she later died as a result of her injuries.

The driver of the vehicle is a 57-year-old woman from West St. Paul. She is cooperating with the investigation, police said in a news release.

Minnesota State Patrol’s reconstruction team is assisting the West St. Paul Police Department in the investigation. The victim’s name will be released at a later time by the Ramsey County Medical Examiner’s Office.
