Photo Gallery: A Sweet Time for Mendota Heights Preschoolers
Children at the Children's Country Day School in Mendota Heights learned how to tap maple trees Monday morning.
To tap a maple tree takes a metal tap, a bucket, a mallet, and a lot of little helpers at Children's Country Day School in Mendota Heights. A class of four-year-olds learned the ins-and-outs of this time-honored tradition Monday morning, placing taps into the grand maple trees around the property. When the sap starts to run, they will begin the process of making syrup.
