The mighty pine tree at in shone brightly Saturday evening. 

The ceremony in Mendota Heights was accompanied by percheron-led hayrides, face-painting, carols and a generous backdrop of falling snow. 

Mayor Sandra Krebsbach had the honors of leading the tree-lighting countdown. Carolers from  and jazz vocalist Connie Evingson then performed, filling the square with familiar Christmas melodies.
