Pride Celebrations In The Mendota Heights Area: 2021 Guide

Pride events will go from June-August this year. Here's your 2021 guide to Pride events happening around the Mendota Heights area.

MENDOTA HEIGHTS, MN — As more people get vaccinated and more places in the Twin Cities metro begin to open up, Twin Cities Pride is back after being cancelled last year during the pandemic. Members of the LGBTQIA+ community as well as allies are invited to take part in Pride celebrations across the country.

June 9- Pride Movie Night-'Wizard of Oz' at B&B Theatres Bloomington 13 at the Mall of America: B&B Theatres will be hosting Pride Movie Nights each Wednesday in June, beginning June 9 with the showing of Wizard of Oz at 7 p.m. 50 percent of box office proceeds will be donated to Human Rights Campaign.

June 12- Hastings Pride 2021: A parade and bloc party will take place beginning at 5 p.m. The parade will begin at Roadside Park and end at the Riverwalk.

June 16-Pride Movie Night-'Milk' at B&B Theatres Bloomington 13 at the Mall of America: B&B Theatres will be hosting Pride Movie Nights each Wednesday in June, beginning June 9 with the showing of Wizard of Oz at 7 p.m. 50 percent of box office proceeds will be donated to Human Rights Campaign.

June 17- Pride Grand Marshal MASKqueerade Party: Amsterdam Bar & Hall in Saint Paul and Granada Theater are hosting a hybrid Pride events, both beginning at 5 p.m.. The two events will feature live music, a drag show, a comedian, and a silent auction to help fundraise for Twin Cities Pride.

June 19-St. Paul Youth Pride 2021: St. Paul Parks and Recreation and Minnesota School Outreach Coalition are hosting an event from 1-6 p.m. at Como Park-East Pavilion. The event will feature food, bingo, yoga classes, a photo scavenger hunt with prizes, pop-up performances and activities, and much more.

June 19- Movie Night in the Park-'Kiki': St. Paul Parks and Recreation is hosting a showing of 'Kiki' at 9 p.m. at St. Paul Como East Pavilion.

June 20- Pride Family Fun Day: Twin Cities Pride is hosting a family event from 11 a.m.-2:30 p.m. at Como Park East Pavilion. The event will have food and beverages, as well as activities for kids.

June 23- Pride Movie Night-'Hedwig and the Angry Inch' at B&B Theatres Bloomington 13 at the Mall of America: B&B Theatres will be hosting Pride Movie Nights each Wednesday in June, beginning June 9 with the showing of Wizard of Oz at 7 p.m. 50 percent of box office proceeds will be donated to Human Rights Campaign.

June 25- Sober & Proud Recoveroke 2021: Beyond Jitters and Twin City Pride are hosting a karaoke contest, dance party and fundraising event at Alano Society of Minneapolis from 7-11:59 p.m. Proceeds from the fundraiser will go to 2218 and the night will end with a dance party to celebrate sobriety and being proud.

June 26- The city of Burnsville is hosting a Pride celebration from 1-3 p.m. at Vista View Park

June 26- Patrick's Cabaret– Pride Celebration 2021: Patrick's Cabaret will be hosting a Zoom event that will feature a variety of performances and readings.

June 27- Rainbow Run 5K: UnitedHealth Group is hosting a hybrid run. The live run will begin at 9 a.m. at Boom Island Park in Minneapolis, but participants can join in at any time in their preferred location between June 20-30.

June 27- Pride @ Nickelodeon Universe: From 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. a portion of proceeds from ticket sales for Nickelodeon Universe will be donated to Twin Cities Pride.

June 30- Pride Movie Night-'Moonlight' at B&B Theatres Bloomington 13 at the Mall of America: B&B Theatres will be hosting Pride Movie Nights each Wednesday in June, beginning June 9 with the showing of Wizard of Oz at 7 p.m. 50 percent of box office proceeds will be donated to Human Rights Campaign.


July

July 6- Pride Night @ MN Twins: Target Field is hosting a Pride Night at 7:10 p.m. Tickets for this game will include a Minnesota Twins Pride Night pronoun baseball jersey.

July 16- 9th Annual Pride Beer Dabbler: Minneapolis Sculpture Garden is hosting a night of beer sampling from local breweries from 5:30-9:30 p.m.

July 17-18- 49th Annual Twin Cities Pride Festival: The annual Pride festival at Loring Park will take place 10 a.m.-6 p.m. both days. The festival will include local BIPOC and LGBTQ+ vendors, food courts, a beer garden, and music.


August

August 14- MN People of Color LGBTQ Pride 2021: MN People of Color LGBTQ Pride is hosting its first ever People of Color LGBTQ Pride three-day event that will include participation from a variety of LGBTQ organizations, educational opportunities, cultural entertainment, and more. The festival will be 9 a.m.-5 p.m. each day.
