'Red Bull' Commander Maj. Gen. Loidolt to Share Leadership Lessons at Saint Thomas Academy
Gen. Loidolt will share leadership lessons learned during his decorated, 30-year military career.
At Saint Thomas Academy ‘s annual military awards night, cadets will have the privilege of hearing from Maj. Gen. Neal Loidolt, commander of the 34th ‘Red Bull’ Infantry Division of the Minnesota National Guard and one of only two 2-star generals in Minnesota, as he shares leadership lessons he’s gained through his 30-year military career. Loidolt’s resume includes many military leadership courses at Ivy League schools, a steady progression of promotions, commanding thousands of soldiers, and military awards and decorations including the Legion of Merit, the Bronze Star and the Meritorious Service Medal.
In addition to hearing from Loidolt, students receiving ROTC scholarships and military appointments, and winners of several military service awards and scholarships will be honored that evening.

About Maj. Gen. Loidolt
General Loidolt assumed duties as commanding general of the 34th Infantry Division on Oct. 5, 2013. He is responsible for establishing and implementing operational and strategic guidance throughout the division and serves as the principal adviser to the adjutant general on the employment of divisional units for state and federal missions.

His previous assignments include director of the joint staff for the Joint Force Headquarters, deputy commanding general–maneuver for the 34th Infantry Division and chief of staff, 34th Infantry Division, where he deployed in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom in 2009-2010.
In 2006, Gen. Loidolt deployed as the deputy director of operations, Iraq Reconstruction Management Office, United States Mission – Iraq. He has been a National Guardsman for more than 30 years.
