Weddings, health, a nearby library and road construction will be in focus this week in Mendota Heights.
Friends of the Wentworth Library
The new Friends of the Wentworth Library group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Monday, July 29.
Construction on Dodd Road/Highway 110
Construction will begin this week in the area of Dodd Road and Highway 110. City crews will work on pedestrian improvements until Sept. 3. "A portion of Interstate Valley Creek Trail northwest of the intersection will be relocated as part of the contract," according to "Friday News" by the city of Mendota Heights.
Family Wellness Fair
Brown College in Mendota Heights is hosting a Family Wellness Fair starting at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 31.
Same-Sex Marriages Legal in Minnesota
Courthouses statewide will be packed as Thursday, Aug. 1, becomes a day of history in Minnesota.
Many will open at 12:01 a.m. for same-sex couples looking to "get hitched" under a new state law that recognizes their marriage for the first time, making Minnesota the 12th state in the United States to do so.
Avoid Mosquito Bites
The first case of West Nile virus in Minnesota this year has been reported. Last year Dakota County had one case of the virus.
