Avril Lavigne To Play At State Theatre In Minneapolis On Sept. 24
Pop-punk singer Avril Lavigne will perform at State Theater in Minneapolis as part of her "Head Above Water" tour.

Avril Lavigne made her debut in the music business when she performed alongside fellow Canadian Shania Twain at age 15. Several years later, in 2002, her first studio album "Let Go" was released. Fans were immediately entranced by her skate-punk persona, and Lavigne has subsequently received credit for paving the way for females in the pop-punk arena

Since her 2002 debut, Avril Lavigne has sold over 40 million albums worldwide. She is the third best selling Canadian female artists of all time — behind only Celine Dion and Shania Twain. The pop punk star first saw mainstream success with her single, "Complicated," which hit number one in several countries across the globe. "Under my Skin," her second studio album, was the singer's first record to make it onto the Billboard 200 chart in the U.S.
Canada's punk princess has been on the rise ever since. Avril Lavigne's third studio album, "The Best Damn Thing," hit number one in several countries. The EP featured the mega-hit, "Girlfriend." Her next two albums,"Goodbye Lullaby" and "Avril Lavigne," were gold-certified in the U.S. and Canada in 2011 and 2013, respectively.

The singer's sixth studio album, "Head Above Water," debuted in February 2019. Her first in six years, fans have been waiting with bated breath. Avril Lavigne's tour of the same name kicks off this fall, traveling from Oakland, CA, on Sept 17. to 12 other cities across the U.S. and Canada. The tour is scheduled to wrap in Philadelphia on Oct. 11.
