Minnesota Connections Academy allows students to attend public school from the comfort of home, meeting the needs of the many families today who are looking for an environment with fewer distractions, greater flexibility, more one-on-one time, and a personalized learning pace. Families will also find a variety of social opportunities including community activities and field trips, school events such as prom, clubs, even an in-person graduation.
"I’ve always had an interest in technology and online learning,” says Assistant Principal, Dr. Robin Percival, who joined MNCA's leadership team in August 2017 (pictured). Percival, who has more than 20 years in education in a traditional public school setting—including 13 years in school administration—has also taught more than 60 online courses in higher education. In addition to her role at MNCA, Percival teaches online courses in the graduate education area of technology, education and innovation at both Concordia University, St. Paul as well at Capella University, an online institution of higher learning headquartered in Minneapolis.

“Our educational system is realizing that the ‘one-size fits all’ approach no longer applies. Students and families want to play larger role in their education. Parents want to find a personalized learning experience that meets the specific needs of their child. That’s exactly what online education offers and why it’s becoming more and more prevalent across the educational spectrum—both in higher education and in K-12 settings.”
