On Thursday morning at 3:34 am, officers from the Minneapolis Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the sound of shots fired on the 1300 block of Yale Place.

Officers arrived and located an adult male, obviously deceased, suffering from a gunshot wound. Medical staff pronounced the victim deceased at the scene.

Preliminary investigation indicates that a group of people had gotten into a dispute in which shots were fired. The suspect(s) fled prior to officers arriving on the scene.

The Minneapolis Police Department’s Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence. Detectives from the Homicide Unit responded to the and began their investigation.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
