Evening Shooting Leaves One Dead and One Hospitalized

March 30, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) – Shortly after 11:00 PM on Monday evening, Minneapolis Police responded to the 400 block of 13th Avenue SE on a report of shots fired. A short time later, another call came into 911 reporting that it was now a shooting.

Officers arrived and located an adult male outside suffering from a gunshot wound. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Another adult male was found at the scene suffering from non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by ambulance.

There is not believed to be any ongoing threat to public safety and the police department is not looking for any additional involved parties. Three guns were recovered at the scene.

Homicide Detectives continue to speak with several people who may have information regarding the incident.

Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
