Minneapolis Police Department Reported Evening Shooting Ends In The Death Of 1
Officers arrived and were advised by people that the victims were already transported. Officers were met with interference at the scene.
March 6, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) – At 5:45 pm, Minneapolis police responded to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of 38th Street East and Chicago Avenue. While en route, 911 callers were reporting two people were shot and being brought to the entrance to the area.

Officers arrived and were advised by people that the victims were already transported. Officers were met with interference at the scene.
Officers were notified that one victim, an adult male believed to be in his 30’s, suffering from a gunshot wound had just arrived at Hennepin Healthcare. Squads responded to the hospital and spoke with people there.

Officers were notified a short time later that the victim had died.
Preliminary investigation yields that the victim and the suspect had a verbal altercation in the area of 38th and Chicago and the suspect shot the victim. The suspect fled the area northbound in a cream, or light colored, Suburban, believed to be a 2005 – 2016 body style. The suspect’s vehicle is said to have sustained gunshot damage.
The Minneapolis Police is asking for the public’s help in locating this vehicle. Anyone with information is asked to call CrimeStoppers of Minnesota at 800-222-TIPS. All tips are anonymous and anyone providing information leading to the arrest and conviction in this case may be eligible for a financial reward.
Minneapolis Police Homicide Unit has detectives actively working this case at this time.
It should be noted that whereas reports originally provided information of two people injured by gunfire, there has only been one victim located.
