Minneapolis Police Department Reported Woman Dies At Hospital After Stabbing

At 9:40 am, Metro Transit Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Chicago Avenue South and East Franklin.

March 17, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) – At 9:40 am, Metro Transit Police responded to a report of a stabbing in the area of Chicago Avenue South and East Franklin.

Officers arrived and located an adult female, believed to be in her 70’s, in grave condition suffering from stab wounds. Officers provided immediate emergency aid and she was transported to Hennepin County Medical Center by paramedics where she did a short time later.

The suspect has fled prior to officer’s arrival.

Homicide detectives from the Minneapolis Police Department were called and will lead the investigation with assistance from the Metro Transit Police Department.

Investigators also are looking to see if the stabbing is related to any other crimes in the area.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
