Minneapolis Police Reported Late Evening Shooting Results In The Death Of 1

Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, March 24th, a 911 call came in reporting a shooting on the 1700 block of East Lake Street.

March 25, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) – Shortly before midnight on Wednesday, March 24th, a 911 call came in reporting a shooting on the 1700 block of East Lake Street.

Officers arrived and located an adult male, believed to be in his 40s lying outside the business suffering from a gunshot wound. The victim had no pulse or respirations, so officers immediately began cardiopulmonary resuscitation and wound management. Other officers cordoned off the scene and began looking for witnesses.

Preliminary investigation indicates that an altercation occurred between two or more people when one person produced a handgun and shot the other. The suspect fled from the scene

The Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence. The Homicide Unit sent detectives who started an investigation.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victim, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
