Minneapolis Police Reported Overnight Crash Leads To The Discovery Of 2 Shooting Victims

April 12, 2021 (MINNEAPOLIS) On Monday morning at 2:03 am, Minneapolis Police were dispatched to a ShotSpotter activation in the area of East 28th Street and 14th Avenue South.

Metro Transit Police arrived and located a motor vehicle crash at that intersection. In checking the two cars, they noted that no one was in one of the cars and one person was obviously deceased inside the other car. Checking further, it was apparent that the deceased individual had suffered a gunshot wound.

Other officers responding to the scene located another male down in the middle of the road approximately a block away. This individual was suffering from a gunshot wound. Officers began life saving measures; however, he was pronounced deceased by paramedics.

Both victims appeared to be adult males.

Crime Lab personnel responded to document the scene and collect evidence. Members of the Homicide Unit arrived and began their investigation.

There is no one in custody at this time.

The Medical Examiner will release the identity of the victims, along with the nature and cause of death in the days to come.
